PGNA Membership 2023-24

PGNA - The Association for Nurses working in Older Person's Mental Health, Aged and Dementia Care.

PGNA grew out of a need for its members to support each other professionally in the specialised field of psychogeriatric nursing. With an ever-increasing aging population PGNA is now poised to challenge policy makers at State and Federal levels to ensure that older people with a mental illness/mental disorder and/or a cognitive impairment are considered in health care planning process at Local Health District, State and Federal levels as well as the implementation of realistic plans to meet the service needs of such older people.

PGNA Membership and Associate Membership Fees:

• Full Voting Membership – The current annual fee is $50. This is available to any person who is a registered or enrolled nurse primarily engaged in, or with an interest in, psychogeriatric nursing.
• Associate Non-Voting Membership – The current annual fee is $30. This is available to any allied health professional or other health care worker who has an interest in Old Age Psychiatry. Associate members are not eligible for Scholarships. This membership is not available to nurses.

PGNA membership is managed through 'Floktu.com'.
• You will receive an email confirming your payment
• Your bank statement will reflect a payment to 'Floktu Sydney' and may detail Floktu as "shopping>software" or "Computer Programming, Data Processing, and Integrated Systems Design Services".

Emails from PGNA are sent through 'Mailchimp' which is often blocked by health/organisation servers.
• Use of a personal email address is more likely to accept emails.
• Please save 'membership@pgna.org.au and info@pgna.org.au in your list of cantacts to prevent these emails going to 'spam'.

PGNA does not attempt to compete or substitute itself for broader nursing associations or organisations such as the NSW Nurses and Midwives Association or The College of Nursing. The members of the PGNA Executive Committee are not employees of PGNA and give their time and services over and above their regular employment.
